Meadowlark Park Community Association

District Six Community Newsletter

Over the month of January and early February 2009 Meadowlark Park experienced five home break and enters. This is a high number in a short time frame for a quiet community. Calgary Police immediately recognized a trend and subsequently initiated a task force of sorts and dedicating countless hours to this issue. Police identified a suspect quickly, however this individual fled the province prior to arrest. This resulted in the termination of any house break and enters since. I would like to take this time to remind all residents to keep houses and garages locked, and with the temperature due to warm up, make sure windows are not left open when leaving the house.

Please feel free to contact Cst. Travis Flathers (Community Liaison Officer) with any questions or concerns.

Online crime reporting

The Calgary Police Service now offers an online crime reporting system which is quick and easy to use.

By using the Citizen Online Police Reporting System, you can submit a report about a crime and print a copy of the police report for free. We will then investigate the matter as well as use the information to identify and address crime trends in your area.

·         What can you report online?

The online reporting system currently takes reports about the following crimes, as long as their value is less than $5,000 (Canadian), there is no known suspect and the incident happened within Calgary’s city limits:
